anyone watches it? Sakshi, i think you said you watched it?
i have a couple of questions … pliss to help reduce confusion?
why is the father making his younger son sleep with lali? why not the older son? doesn’t the older son already have kids? so why do they need the younger son to also have kids?
also, why is the older son always conspiring with that house-help lady? what does she have against lali?
oh gawd, i am so confused. started watching it cuz i like the bihari/bhojpuri accent. :D

Sakshi
I watch the serial. Thanks for remembering Roop, I though you have forgotten me…
Well-
The thing is-
The thakur sahaab is very intelligent, and he realised that come what may, the elder daughter in law will not accept the fact that her husband is sleeping around. Also- Since the elder son has two daughters, he may understand that he is genetically not capable.
Also- if you have noticed- the younger daughter in law is a very kiddish lady, whose only interest is looking good. She is not vain, but her IQ is low. And plus- She is not capable bearing any children, so makes sense to have a child and ask her to bring the child up.
The younger son needs not have children- BUT to have a male child. That is the bone of contention.
Whoever would bear a male child will automatically become thakur sahaab’s favourite and thus will get thakur sahaabs property and money.
That is the reason the elder son conspires with the maid.. so that he can go sleep with a random woman get thakur sahaan the male grandkid and remain his favourite.
I guess that should clear it up..!!! say what?

Roop, you are admitting to watching this in public? God! Now you are officially labeled regressive, and backward! ha ha ha. I watch a lot of TV, so am with you. ;) I somehow never liked this particular serial. Watch Ladies Special if you have Sony. That is a really nice one.

I’ve seen bits and pieces of this when I happen to be at my parent’s place and it’s kinda got me hooked. I watch it seething and muttering under my breath the whole time yet I still want to know what happens next!!
Don’t know the full story (the first time I saw it I think Lali (?) was being locked in a cowshed hahah for trying to run away) but as per all indian serials it has its own twisted logic.

caught it a couple of times….as long as we are asking questions,… why does she want to be a bitiya in the next janm (why not a bird/ butterfly/ whatever)??? why a next janm at all??

Roop
yeaah suchi, i’ve wondered about that too. after being treated the way she is, why does she want to be a daughter again? maybe the irony of the title is lost on me.
but jes, why not a monkey or a rhino? and why want to be reborn? we must write kiran bedi a letter. she’s the thinker behind this show apparently innit.
